Torsion Testing
eXpert 81T torsion testers are tabletop units available in horizontal or vertical orientations for static and fatigue testing to 20 Hz. Static and fatigue testers are offered in capacities from 5 Nm to 300 Nm and 5 Nm to 25 Nm, respectively. ADMET torsion testers employ a linear slide design for maximum torsional stiffness and minimal axial friction. A reaction torque transducer is attached to a movable tail stock mounted on a linear slide. The tail stock can be left free floating or clamped during testing. All torsion testers feature unlimited rotation in both directions and are ordered as either horizontal or vertical testers. We will also modify a tester to meet your needs. Biaxial Tests - Customers wishing to perform biaxial tests in tension/compression and torsion have several options. When the tail stock of the eXpert 81T is left free floating, the user can apply an axial pre-load to the specimen using a weight and pulley arrangement. Continuously variable axial forces can also be applied by adding a torsion actuator to the moving crosshead of an ADMET eXpert 2600 series dual column universal testing machine. Controls and Software - ADMET offers two fast acting closed loop servo controllers for performing static or fatigue tests under torque or angle control. MTESTQuattro(R), a PC-based controller with software, offers the most flexibility in control, data analysis and reporting. The eP Digital Controller, a standalone unit, is ideal for quality control testing. Both controllers feature 8 kHz servo update periods and programmable log rates to 1kHz. Grips, Fixtures and Accessories - eXpert 81T torsion testers can be equipped with collets, chucks and drive sockets to hold and twist your specimens. ADMET will also machine custom adapters to accommodate unusual shapes and sizes. Environmental baths with heating and cooling systems meet aerospace and medical device test requirements.
